Business Card Design for Professional Gardener
Over the past couple of weeks I've been working with Robert Golding - a professional gardener setting up a new business here in Whitby.
He asked me to design a logo which could be used on business cards, leaflets and on his work vehicle. He wanted something which looked professional and of a high quality - reflecting the values of his business. But he also wanted something which would speak of traditional skills and techniques, but with a modern approach. So not entirely straight forward!
We settled on a modern take on a crest, or shield. Something which is generally associated with days gone by, but we've updated it.
Using strong colours, a classic serif typeface (Merriweather) and modern illustrations of traditional gardening tools Rob's new logo looks great - we're both really pleased with how it's turned out.
Just had a look and it's great. It's exactly what I was thinking.
Once the leaflets have arrived and the vinyl's been applied to his Land Rover I'll write this up as a proper case study. But for now, here are some shots of his business cards - printed on 400gsm silk board and matt laminated for a really smooth and high-quality feel.
